Linda Johnson
(Pictured, Donald Belle, Linda Johnson and Leland Melvin, head of NASA Education).

On, February 21, 2012...Donald Belle (GPHS science coordinator) and Linda Johnson, (GPHS Class of 2013 science student) presented at the 100Kin10 Partner Summit and provided the audience an inspiring example of the type of STEM teaching and deeper learning that is generated by forming STEM partnerships. Ms. Johnson had the unique opportunity of introducing USDE's Secretary, Arnie Duncan during the summit. The learning studios team at Gwynn Park High School develops STEM activities in conjunction with the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future. Some of the work being completed at Gwynn Park includes the restoration of the school greenhouse, the creation of an outdoor STEM classroom, a recycling program, and investigations of photovoltaic cells. Linda is involved in many activities at GPHS including the Gwynn Park Band where she plays piccolo and flute; Ecology Club; Mock Trial; as well as an intern at Camp Schmidt and less not forget she is a honors student with a GPA over 4.0.  We are proud of Linda as we know Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are as well.
