Last night, the GPHS Student Athletes and coaches were recognized for their achievements. It was a great experience for the students. A slide show of students in various sports was shown during the banquet. It would have been nice if all sports had been represented, especially if a sport came home with a trophy for Gwynn Park High School. Parents, it is our duty to step up. Thanks to Coach David Brady for helping out last night with the "ticket". We as parents must hold GPHS accountable for the lack of communication. We are doing great things but there is so much more to do. THANKS TO BRANDYWINE SAFEWAY FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!!!!
5/5/10
Have you heard, GPHS Golf Coach David Brady shot a "Hole in One" at the First Annual "Yellow Jacket" Celebrity Golf Tournament and Silent Auction. The winning team was Damon Jones, Sr., Joshua Jones, Ronald Woods, & Anthony Burgos. Joshua is on the GPHS Varsity Golf Team, so the trophy stays in the Gwynn Park family - congratulations! Thanks to the parents and students who volunteered their time. We had a fun and great time and are looking forward to next year! Did I mention, Trenton Gilstrap and Amani Jamall along with two other golfers came in 3rd. They represented Gwynn Park well. A special thanks to Hall of Fame Player, Brigg Owens, former Washington Redskin for taking time out of his schedule to join us, spend time with the students and play a few holes of golf.. THANKS TO BRANDYWINE SAFEWAY FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!!!!
4/21/10
Did you know on Tuesday night Gwynn Park welcomed incoming freshman with a "Freshman Fair" -- incoming 9th graders and their parents are excited. It was great to see staff and students representing Gwynn Park. ROTC, the chorus and cheerleaders did an excellent job. Thanks to the student volunteers as well for showing their "Yellow Jacket Pride".
Did you know that Gwynn Park's Varsity Golf Team placed 3rd in the State?
Did you know that Gwynn Park Cheerleaders won the Prince Georges County Championship and won the State Championships?
Did you know that Gwynn Park Varsity Boys & Girls Basketball Team's placed 2nd in the State Championships?
Without parent support none of this could have happened. Parents we have to continue. We need you even more in high school.
