I am sure the school board members in attendance enjoyed the great concert and understood the passion for music that our students demonstrate. We had smoothies, shaved ice and Nathan hot dogs and the best music you will ever hear. We were proud to host such as prestigious event. The students did a great job in meeting, greeting and performing. Again, thanks to the vision of Mr. Lake, it happened. I am told I was passionate in my 3 minutes and I say our kids are our future, why isn't the PGCPS BOE not as passionate. Ok, people came up after the meeting and said "fight the power". As I said, the BOE needs to get education out of their back pocket and remember the students are the future.... and this has been the buzzzzzzzz. We need to see GPHS parents Thursday night at the parent meeting, 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.

If you were not at the game, you missed a fun filled- family afternoon with great entertainment. You missed the band moms strutting with the band. To culminate the day, we finished with the homecoming dance. Thanks to Coach Hawkins and the SGA students for all of their hard work. Thanks to the GPHS Administrators who spent their entire day at school between the game and the dance. We could not have had a trouble free dance without the support and hard work of the parent chaperons. Great job. FYI, I now know how to chop. Last night, the GPHS Student Athletes and coaches were recognized for their achievements. It was a great experience for the students. A slide show of students in various sports was shown during the banquet. It would have been nice if all sports had been represented, especially if a sport came home with a trophy for Gwynn Park High School. Parents, it is our duty to step up. Thanks to Coach David Brady for helping out last night with the "ticket". We as parents must hold GPHS accountable for the lack of communication. We are doing great things but there is so much more to do. THANKS TO BRANDYWINE SAFEWAY FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!!!!
5/5/10
Have you heard, GPHS Golf Coach David Brady shot a "Hole in One" at the First Annual "Yellow Jacket" Celebrity Golf Tournament and Silent Auction. A special thanks to Hall of Fame Player, Brigg Owens, former Washington Redskin for taking time out of his schedule to join us, spend time with the students and play a few holes of golf.. THANKS TO BRANDYWINE SAFEWAY FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!!!!
